Description
The 10 km return Rob Roy Glacier Track near Wanaka New Zealand leads you into Mount Aspiring National Park, an amazing world of mountains, glaciers, river valleys and alpine lakes. The first part of the hike is through a grazed paddock with wide open views of the West Matukituki River Valley. After a short time, the track crosses the river via this fun swinging bridge and enters shady beech forest within Mount Aspiring National Park. I don’t think there is any graceful way to get across a river on a swing bridge! You always seem to be going down when the bridge is bouncing up and vice versa. Nevertheless, I always loved using them to cross the rivers and streams!
